The above headline was in today’s Sunday Des Moines Register. I’m still trying to figure out the meaning of it. In 40 years of reading the Register, the only people from other countries that I have ever read about are “immigrants” and “undocumented workers”. What the sam hell are these “youths illegally in Iowa”? If someone was here illegally, why weren’t they arrested? Why would they be applying for work permits? Why haven’t I heard about them before? Surely Iowa’s finest (?) newspaper would have reported on “illegal” aliens if they were actually here. This is the first I’ve heard about it, and I read the paper pretty regular. They must have just snuck in last night. Because I’m sure the Register would have reported it if there were illegal aliens here. Like I say, the Des Moines Register in 40 years has only ever talked about “immigrants” and “undocumented workers”. I’ve never heard of this “illegals” business before. If there had been, we should create an agency to get rid of these illegals. I’m sure nothing good could come from someone being here that shouldn’t be.
