Back in the 1996 Republican presidential race, Pat Buchanan won the New Hampshire primary. The establishment crapped their pants and immediately trotted out 3 prominent Republicans to go on TV and say THEY would never vote for Buchanan if he were the nominee. The 3 Stooges were Bill Bennett, Colin Powell, and Newt Gingrich. The Insiders wanted to make sure that Arizonans got the message and didn’t make the same mistake as New Hampshire.

What it did for me was mark Gingrich forever as a neo-con twit.
